BEYOND4 was honoured to be the proud Co-Organiser of the India-ASEAN Startup Summit, a milestone event seeking to bridge the gap between the Malaysian and Indian startup ecosystems, creating opportunities within either country the opportunity to leverage on the Summit to supercharge their expansion plans and opportunities.
The event was designed as a forum for networking with industry experts, pitching workshops, business matchmaking with VCs and investors, as well as showcasing the startups to almost 11+ participating countries. More than 1000 participants, 600 emerging startups, 50 Investors (domestic and international), 100 startup hubs, incubators, accelerators, and government officials took part.
BEYOND4 CEO Mr. S.T. Rubaneswaran moderated 2 impactful panel sessions as part of the Summit, with the first being entitled “Building Trust Through Your Story & Influencing your Stakeholders”. The session featured panellists Mahadhir Aziz, CEO MDEC and Srinivasan Rao Mahankali, CEO T-Hub, India, speaking on the importance of building a compelling vision for the future and he importance of inspiring the key stakeholders around you to work with you towards that shared vision.
The following session, featuring panellists Victor Chua, the Founding & Managing Partner Vynn Capital Malaysia, Sam Shafie, the Cofounder of PitchIN (ECF Platform), Malaysia and Shri Manoj Kumar Mishra, the Honorable Pvt. Secretary, Department of Electronic & Information Technology, Government of Odisha was speaking on “Investor Perspectives – Understanding what investors look for in Start-ups”. The panel shed an interesting light on the contrasting opinions held by venture capital, platforms like Equity Crowdfunding and the governmental perspective.
Conducted on the 12th and 13th of December 2023, BEYOND4 helped organised 2 Breakout Rooms, in parallel with the Summit, featuring experienced speakers sharing their key experiences and knowledge.
The sessions were truly beneficial and added an additional layer of value to the prestigious programme. We look forward to the next edition of the Summit and are excited for the opportunities and pathways opened through co-organising and participation in the wider event.
