Northern Industry Engagement (NIE) 2.0: Strengthening Talent Development for Malaysia’s Digital & Semiconductor Ecosystem

BEYOND4 is pleased to host Northern Industry Engagement (NIE) 2.0, a strategic industry-focused session aimed at strengthening collaboration between employers, training providers, and government-led talent initiatives. The session will take place on Thursday, 3 July 2025, from 10.30 AM to 1.00 PM at WCOE Plaza, Batu Kawan, Penang, bringing together key stakeholders to address workforce readiness within Malaysia’s rapidly growing digital and semiconductor sectors.

Organised by BEYOND4 and supported by the Ministry of Human Resources, TalentCorp Group of Companies, EduCity Iskandar, Malaysia Semiconductor Industry Association (MSIA), and WCOE, NIE 2.0 focuses on aligning industry needs with structured training pathways and salary incentives. Through national initiatives such as TalentCorp’s MyMAHIR and EduCity’s K-Youth Programme, the session highlights how industry-driven collaboration can develop a sustainable pipeline of job-ready graduates equipped with relevant and in-demand skills.

A key emphasis of NIE 2.0 is the value proposition for participating industries, including access to degree, diploma, and SPM-level talent, paid allowances of up to four months, statutory contributions, insurance and medical coverage, as well as fully funded training programmes tailored to digital and semiconductor disciplines. These incentives are designed to reduce hiring risk while supporting long-term talent development and retention.

The programme will feature insights and sharing sessions from representatives of TalentCorp, MSIA TVET, and Iskandar Investment Berhad, offering participants practical perspectives on implementation, industry engagement, and workforce impact. The session will conclude with networking opportunities, allowing industry players to connect, exchange insights, and explore potential collaborations.

Through NIE 2.0, BEYOND4 reaffirms its commitment to bridging the gap between education and employment, while supporting industries in building a future-ready workforce that drives innovation, competitiveness, and sustainable growth.
