On the 14th of June 2023, the Singapore Business Federation played host to a momentous event, the BEYOND4 In The Lion City. Over 150 esteemed guests, including partners, mentors, startups, and investors, gathered to witness a landmark occasion that aimed to accelerate talent and startup landscapes while bridging technology and business gaps between Malaysia and Singapore. The event was graced by the presence of His Excellency Dato’ Dr. Azfar Bin Mohamad Mustafar, the High Commissioner from Malaysia to Singapore, who officiated the proceedings and witnessed the exchange of MOUs and partnership agreements.
During the event, BEYOND4 proudly solidified its collaboration with eight prominent Singapore partners. The partnership agreements were signed with GrowHub Innovations, Amplify Services, ChangeLeader, Whyze Solutions, Pinetree Securities, and True Vine Capital Partners, marking a significant step towards fostering synergy and mutual growth between Malaysia and Singapore in the startup ecosystem.
One of the highlights of the event was the engaging fireside chat session, “Transnational Synergy: Fostering Talent & Startup Advancement Across Borders.” Key industry players from Malaysia and Singapore came together to discuss the vital aspects of cross-border collaboration. The session was moderated by Charmaine Tan, founder of Engages.ai, and featured esteemed panelists Harmender Singh, VP – Strategic Planning and SUPER PMO of Cradle Fund, and Lucian Koh, Head – Innovation & Strategic Partnerships of the Action Community for Entrepreneurship, Thomas Matthew, Group CEO of TalentCorp Group of Companies & Ethan Tan, VP of VC Startups at Pinetree Securities.

Mr. Harmender Singh, VP – Strategic Planning and SUPER PMO of Cradle Fund, drew on his proven track record in generating and building relationships, managing projects, and designing transformational strategies. His insights added a valuable perspective on the evolving landscape of investment and technology.
Together, these distinguished individuals offered a comprehensive range of expertise, driving an engaging discussion that shed light on the vibrant future of the ASEAN tech scene and provided valuable takeaways for startups and entrepreneurs alike. Our panelists shared their invaluable insights and expertise during the session, contributing to a thought-provoking discussion on fostering talent and advancing startups across borders.
The event also provided a platform for six exceptional startups to showcase their potential. Materials in Works, Swipey, Semart, IHX Marketplace, EngageNova, and Exploria TV took the stage to deliver captivating pitches. These startups will now embark on their journey with BEYOND4 Elevate, a program designed to prepare them for their next stage in equity fundraising.
